The programme for the 2015 Kilkenny Arts Festival  includes a celebration of the music of J.S. Bach and DruidShakespeare's adaptation of Richard II, along with parts one and two of Henry IV and Henry V.

Marble City Sessions will be hosted and co-curated by fiddler Martin Hayes, and A Festival Portrait, in which painter Mick O'Dea will paint and sketch festival artists and events.

Also in attendance will be former US poet laureate Robert Pinsky as the festival's poet-in-residence.

Speaking at the launch of the programme, festival director Eugene Downes said: "Being able to blend these artistic flavours and chart your own Festival journey as it gets richer from day to day amid the ancient churches, castles, townhouses, courtyards and gardens, is what makes the Kilkenny experience so magical."

The Kilkenny Arts Festival will run from August 7-16. For booking and the full programme see www.kilkennyarts.ie.
