1. Screen great Christopher Lee dies, aged 93
Christopher Lee, one of the most iconic actors in cinema history, has died at the age of 93. He had been in hospital for respiratory problems and heart failure, and he passed away on Sunday June 7 at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital but a public announcement was delayed by his family until all relatives and friends had been informed.
Born in London in 1922, Christopher Frank Carandini Lee's career spanned eight decades and he was revered by generations of film fans.
2. The Corrs confirm they're back together
Dundalk family band The Corrs have confirmed that they have reformed and will play their first live show in 10 years in London in September. They will play BBC Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park on September 13.
Speaking on Chris Evans' show on BBC Radio 2, lead singer Andrea Corr said: "We're in the process of making a new record, so it feels just right to do this. It's exciting. We emerged after our lives going in different directions - babies and all that."

3. Michael Fassbender, Saoirse Ronan tipped for Oscar shortlists
Having tipped Brooklyn star Saoirse Ronan as a Best Actress Oscar nomination contender in May, US site Indiewire has now said Michael Fassbender is a Best Actor contender for Macbeth, with Brooklyn one of two "safest bets" for the Best Picture shortlist.

4. Liam Cunningham "hurt" by recent GoT death
Following the shocking death in this week's Game of Thrones, Irish actor Liam Cunningham, who plays Ser Davos Seaworth, has said that the death "hurt" him on a professional and personal level. Spoilers ahead.
With Seaworth on his way to The Wall to plead with Jon Snow for munitions, pretender to the Iron Throne, Stannis Baratheon, burned his daughter Shireen alive, as a sacrifice to R'hllor, the Lord of Light. Davos and Shireen has built a friendship throughout the series, with Shireen teaching the smuggler-turned-knight how to read.
Speaking to New York Times website Arts Beat, Cunningham called the death an "awful loss, both professionally and personally", due to his enjoyment of working with Kerry Ingram, the young actress who played Shireen.

5. Watch! Orange Is the New Black message to Ireland
After the release of its third season in the early hours of this morning (June 12), Orange Is the New Black stars Uzo Aduba and Taylor Schilling have a message for the show's Irish fans.
6. Shayne Ward films first Corrie scenes
Singer and actor Shayne Ward has filmed his first Coronation Street scenes as Aidan Connor, the cousin of Michelle (Kym Marsh). Pictures released on Coronation Street's Instagram account show Ward having fun on set.
They were accompanied by the caption: "We think someone might be excited about their first day in work!"
7. Hemsworth to play Ghostbusters receptionist
Avengers and Thor star Chris Hemsworth has joined the cast of the upcoming Ghostbusters remake, and will play the receptionist of the all-female paranormal investigation team.
Announcing Hemsworth's casting with a photo on Twitter, director Paul Feig wrote: "Our receptionist. #whoyougonnacall."

8. Jack Reynor joins Cillian Murphy in crime thriller
Jack Reynor has joined Cillian Murphy in Free Fire, the Boston-set thriller from Kill List director Ben Wheatley. Written by Wheatley and Amy Jump, Free Fire tells the story of an arms deal at a warehouse that goes wrong for two Irishmen (Murphy and Michael Smiley). There are no details on Reynor's character at present.

9. Bart Simpson to be killed in Halloween special
The Simpsons executive producer Al Jean has announced that after 22 years of trying, Sideshow Bob will finally kill Bart Simpson. The death will take place in the annual Halloween special, meaning Bart's death will not be permanent; which should be a good thing for Bob, as Jean told Entertainment Weekly that he won't know what to do with himself after successfully killing his nemesis.

10. Rory McIlroy reveals his dream celeb golf partner
Rory McIlroy has revealed to Billboard magazine the celebrity he would most like to play golf with. Responding to the music industry publication's question, he replied: "Kanye West. I would love to spend four or five hours in his company just to see what he's like. It would be very interesting."
