Jurassic World star Chris Pratt has said he feels "overcome with joy" at the positive response to his latest movie.

The 35-year-old actor took to Facebook to express his appreciation on behalf of everyone involved in the film, the fourth in the dinosaur franchise series that stretches back to 1993.

"On behalf of everyone involved in the making of ‪#‎JurassicWorld, and believe me there are thousands of us, I want to say thank you," he wrote.

"It feels so wonderful to hear the overwhelmingly positive response. We are incredibly blessed and overcome with joy at the outcome of the movie and couldn't be more appreciative for the amazing support you've shown so far.

"This is bigger than all of us. Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

The latest instalment in the Jurassic Park series has received a largely positive response from critics. Pratt stars as trainer Owen, who leads a rescue mission for tourists trapped in a dinosaur theme park after a genetically-modified dinosaur goes on a rampage.
