Taylor Swift has donated €15,000 in hospital costs to a Texan firefitghter who rescued his own family at the scene of a car accident.

Last Saturday, June 6, firefighter Aaron VanRiper responded to an emergency call from the scene of a car crash to discover that his wife, Amber, and his seven-year-old son, Jonathan, were among the injured.

Both survived but Jonathan needed surgery on his arm and leg and has since been released from hospital but Aaron's wife, Amber, is still hospitalized after undergoing a nine-hour surgery for her broken pelvis.

According to BuzzFeed News, the VanRiper family does not have health insurance, so a family friend, Mandy Kibby, set up a GoFundMe page to help them with medical bills.

On Thursday, the couple’s friends were shocked and delighted when a donation of $15,000 was left by “Taylor Swift.”

The donation has since been verified as being from the pop star.

Speaking to BuzzFeed News, Kibby said she thought she was dreaming when she saw Swift's donation. “I didn’t believe it at first,” she said. “This woman is amazing,” she said.
