Florence + the Machine’s third studio album, How Big How Blue How Beautiful, has hit the top of the US album chart.
This is the first time Florence Welch’s outfit has scored a No 1 album on Billboard’s Hot 200 chart. The band’s 2011 debut , Ceremonials, reached number 6 and its follow-up, Lungs, climbed to number 14 in 2013.
How Big How Blue How Beautiful was released on Tuesday 2 June in the USA and had sold the equivalent of 137,000 album units by Sunday 7 June, according to Nielsen Music, as reported in today’s Guardian.
