Grey, the story of the relationship between Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele as seen from his perspective is at number one in Amazon’s book charts, just over a week before its release. However, the manuscript has gone missing and pirated versions are likely.

The Daily Mail reported the missing manuscript yesterday, referring to fears that “thieves may be planning to release pirated versions of the novel, or sell extracts to media outlets”.

Grey’s publisher Penguin Random House have not commented as yet  “due to an ongoing police investigation.”

Such an occurence is by no means a first. In 2007, the final novel in JK Rowling’s Harry Potter series was leaked online some days before its release. Four years earlier, a forklift truck driver stole pages of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and attempted to sell them to The Sun.
