Fair City fans will see the shock return of a repentant Tommy Dillon (Geoff Minogue) to Carrigstown on RTÉ One on Wednesday, June 10, at 8:00pm.
The show's production team says: "While Caoimhe (Aoibheann McCaul) is delighted to see her dad not everyone feels the same, and many of the Carrigstown residents are left rattled by his return."
Commenting, actor Minogue said: "It's great to be back in Fair City again! It was good to have a break after the storyline last year because it was quite intense at the time, but it's really good to be back and to catch up with everyone."
He continued: "Tommy is back to make amends. He's had time out to process what he did last year and to think about the people he hurt and he realises he needs to make amends in order to move on.
"He knows he has a lot of making up to do, especially with Caoimhe, so that's why he's back in Carrigstown. And now that Caoimhe is pregnant it is even more important than ever he is there for her."
Minogue added: "Tommy has a lot of making up to do, but hopefully people will give him a second chance and let him be there for his family."
