Saturday July 4 marks the opening of a collaboration between the Butler Gallery, Kilkenny and Oscar-nominated Irish animation studio Cartoon Saloon.
In celebration of the Irish release of Cartoon Saloon’s new film Song of the Sea in cinemas on July 10, Butler Gallery will present an interactive, multi-media exhibition of original drawings, prints, storyboards, animation and music, with an Animator in Residence. The exhibition will continue through Kilkenny Arts Festival, finishing on October 11, 2015.
Visitors will also be able to create their own animations on site. Projections will allow some of the gallery walls to come alive with music. Free admission and a full education programme will run throughout the exhibition.
