Community star Joel McHale has joined the cast of The X-Files for its upcoming limited series, which airs in the US in January.
The Hollywood Reporter says that the actor and comic will play Tad O'Malley, the anchorman of a conservative online news network who becomes an "unlikely ally" of Mulder's (David Duchovny).
The series premieres in the US on January 24, 2016.
