Dara Ó Briain has interviewed one of his heroes, theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking, for a new BBC documentary which sees the presenter "gain a unique and personal insight into the man behind the bright lights and the equations".

In Dara Ó Briain Meets Stephen Hawking, maths and theoretical physics graduate Ó Briain also talks to Professor Hawking's two children, Lucy and Tim, as well as his friends and colleagues. 

BBC One Commissioning Editor Craig Hunter said: "It's a delight to watch Dara and Stephen's friendship develop with honesty and insight - especially as Dara is fulfilling a childhood dream meeting his hero."
