Shaun Ryder is set to make an unlikely comeback to Channel 4's TFI Friday when Chris Evans' celebrated series returns on Friday June 12.
The Happy Mondays singer made a memorably foul-mouthed appearance on the show back in the 1990s, in which his language was so bad it forced Chris Evans to pre-record all subsequent shows.
According to The Sun, Evans had to convince concerned Channel 4 bosses to overturn a long-running ban on Ryder appearing on the station.
Ryder is the latest name to be added to the special 20th anniversary show and he joins former Oasis' singer Liam Gallagher, Blur, Mani from the Stone Roses and The Who's Roger Daltrey.
The return of TFI Friday airs on Friday, June 12 at 9.00pm on Channel 4.
