Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard’s latest duet album Django and Jimmie is released tomorrow, June 2. Bobby Bare joins the two veterans on the album for a homage to the Man in Black, entitled Missing Ol’ Johnny Cash.
The album opens with Django and Jimmie, a waltz tribute to the album’s title characters, jazz guitarist Reinhardt and Rodgers who was known as The Singing Brakeman. Bob Dylan’s Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right is also tackled by the two likeable country giants.
They also try out each other’s classics as Haggard interprets Family Bible and Nelson performs his take on Somewhere Between.
