Bill Roache and Beverley Callard were among the cast members who attended a service celebrating the life of late Coronation Street star Anne Kirkbride at a service in Manchester Cathedral today, May 30.
Kirkbride died last January, aged 60, following a battle with cancer.
The BBC reports that stars of the soap, both past and present, paid tribute to the actress, who played Deirdre Barlow on the show for 42 years.
Callard, who plays Liz McDonald in Coronation Street, said: "We are so thankful she has been in our lives." William Roache, who played Kirkbride's on-screen husband Ken Barlow, was among about 600 people who paid their respects.
Kirikbride's actor husband Dave Beckett assisted in the planning and production of the service and images of the actress as Deirdre Barlow and photographs taken with her real life family were on display.
There was also an exhibition of artwork which Kirkbride photographed and painted throughout her life.
