Simon Pegg has said that Star Trek 3 will begin filming sooner than expected and revealed that work started afresh on a new script six months ago.
Pegg, who is penning the revised script with Doug Jung, admitted they are facing a tight deadline to finish it in time.
Speaking to the Radio Times, the 45-year-old actor said: "We started again six months before we were due to start shooting, which is insane!
"In fact we start shooting in Vancouver in four weeks - and we're only handing in our first draft today [May 29]."
Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana and Zachary Quinto will return for the sequel, which hits cinemas on July 8, 2016.
