Emmerdale actress Natalie Anderson, who plays Alicia Metcalfe on the soap, has confirmed she will be leaving the show when her contract ends later this year.
Anderson joined the long-running show in 2010 and over the past five years her character Alicia has been involved in some of the soap's biggest storylines.
Alicia has been held captive at The Woolpack, survived a stay in prison and, more recently, has been at the centre of a sexual assault storyline in which she was assaulted by 14-year-old schoolboy, Lachlan White.
Speaking about her decision to leave the show Anderson said: "I've had the most incredible five years at Emmerdale and made some wonderful friends.
"I'm so grateful to the writers, directors, producers and everyone I've worked with.
"This year has been such a highlight and so amazing that I felt now was the right time to say bye to Alicia and see what the future holds."
Before joining Emmerdale, Anderson starred as Stella Davenport in the ITV drama series The Royal between 2005 and 2008.
