Jay-z slams rival online music sites

Rapper and music mogul Jay-z has delivered an attack on rival music sites, suggesting that his fight against the new corporate giants of the music industry is similar to the struggle for black equality.  

The rapper joined forces with wife Beyoncé, and fellow suoerstars Madonna and Rihanna last March to launch his own service Tidal, a new music streaming site which he claims delivers a fairer deal to musicians.

Spotify and Apple came in for a verbal mauling from the rapper at a New York concert for Tidal subscribers on Monday night in which he rapped: “You know when I work I ain’t your slave right? You know I ain’t shucking and jiving and high-fiving, and you know this ain’t back in the days right?”

Tellingly, Jay Z’s performance was uploaded to YouTube shortly afterwards.
