Last night (May 18), Molly Sterling performed at the Irish Eurovision Party in Vienna.
Sterling, Greg French and her band Poilin Lynch, Darren Sweeney, Naomi Clarke, Jimmy Rainsford and Jessica Supple performed their Eurovision track Playing With Numbers, along with another song she wrote called Build Fireworks Again.
They also performed a selection of covers including Seven Nation Army and With or Without You.
Former Eurovision winner Niamh Kavanagh was the big guest on the night, and she sang her Eurovision-winning song In Your Eyes.
Niamh also doled out some sage advice to Eurovision hopeful Molly, saying: "Own that stage. You’re going to be up there and there’ll be millions looking at you with love and support. You just be your wonderful self and you’ll knock ‘em dead."
Molly wasn't born when Niamh won the Eurovision in 1993, but was touched by her kind words of support.
Molly said: "She really takes you under her wing. You feel like she really cares and understands. She has an amazing voice. And that amazing hair – I want it!"
She added that she's looking forward to performing at the Eurovision semi-final on Thursday, saying: "This week has been jam packed with stuff, it’s been amazing. I’m taking each day as it comes and just saying to myself: what am I doing today? The team I have around me are great support, and they’re really laid back. Our objective is just to have a good time and perform well."
