With his new film The Lobster receiving its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, Colin Farrell sat down with Deadline.com to discuss his experiences bringing the Kerry-shot story to the screen – watch the interview here.

Described as an "unconventional love story", The Lobster is the first English-language film from Oscar-nominated Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos (Dogtooth, Alps) and was filmed in Parknasilla in Co Kerry in Spring 2014.

The film is set in the near future, where single people's lives depend on finding a partner.

The Lobster also stars Rachel Weisz, John C Reilly, Olivia Colman, Ben Whishaw, Léa Seydoux, Ashley Jensen, Ariane Labed, Angeliki Papoulia, Michael Smiley and Jessica Barden.

Irish company Element Pictures was among the producers on The Lobster, and in a joint distribution deal with Picturehouse Entertainment will release the film in Ireland and the UK in the autumn.
