Nashville's Music City Walk of Fame, part of the city's famous Music Mile, will reopen in June to induct musicians Jack White and Loretta Lynn.

The Walk of Fame park has been closed since last year for renovation, but it was announced yesterday (May 14) that it would reopen on June 4 for the induction ceremony.

In a statement, Nashville Mayor Karl Dean said: ""I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the reopening of Walk of Fame Park than with the induction of Loretta Lynn and Jack White - two very diverse artists.

"They represent what is best about Nashville with music that spans multiple genres and generations. They are great ambassadors for the creative community in our city, and I congratulate them on this wonderful honor."

White and Lynn are no strangers to each other. White produced Lynn's 2004 album Van Lear Rose, which won a Grammy Award for Best Country Album.
