One Direction were guests on James Corden's talk show on US television on Thursday night, during which they discussed the departure of former colleague Zayn Malik, with the group's Louis Tomlinson saying they are now on "good terms".
Tomlinson drew laughter from the audience when he said there had been "a bit of back and forth" online with Malik.
He continued: "I've never been very good at biting me tongue – maybe I get it off me mum. It's just one of those things, y'know.
"Twitter's great for connecting with the fans but also if you feel like saying something you probably shouldn't it's also good for that as well. Or bad, in this case."
He added that the situation was now "all resolved" and "all good".
Liam Payne said that the group were "a little bit angry" when they first heard of Malik's decision but that they "all kind of knew the general vibe Zayn was feeling".
Niall Horan said the group had never thought about breaking up and said they were "really enjoying it".
