Kevin Bacon has thanked fans of his recently cancelled crime drama The Following and the show's "heroic crew" saying it was an honour to work on the series.
It was recently announced that series would not be renewed for a fourth season, with the last episode set to air on May 18 in America and later on Sky Atlantic here.
Bacon, who played the lead role of FBI agent Ryan Hardy, took to Twitter to say, "Big love to all of our loyal fans. It's been an honor to work for you. Sweat,tears, and lots of Blood! Enjoy the final four #THEFOLLOWING"
He later tweeted, "Thanks to our heroic crew. I miss you already."
Bacon also thanked show creator Kevin Williamson saying, "Thanks to @kevwilliamson for creating RH. Thanks to all the great writers and producers. And my champion @MSiega."
He also gave a shout out to his cast-mates, "@JamesPurefoy @ShawnRAshmore @JessicaLStroup @samunderwood @TheValerieCruz @valorie_curry @johnlafayette1 @DianeNeal to name a few #thebest!"
