Former Desperate Housewives' star Eva Longoria is to head the cast of a new NBC TV comedy called Telenova.
The 40-year-old had recently exec-produced Devious Maids and also guested in four episodes of sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine, but this is her first lead role since leaving Wisteria Lane.
Longoaria will star as Ana Maria, a wilful but popular diva who is the star of Latin America’s most beloved telenovela.
She strives to stay on top in a world where the drama on-camera is nothing compared to what goes on behind the scenes.
