Accompanying himself on keyboards and guitar, the dynamic, irrepresible musician combines the performance of his earthy, melodic songs with theatrical devices and movement.
His repertoire is drawn from some six albums, beginning with his 1987 debut, It’s Only A Long Way Across and including tracks from his 2012 release, Songs for a Verry Small Orchestra.
Turner has collaborated with renowned composer Philip Glass on two songs, How It Shone and Yogi With a Broken Heart. Christy Moore has covered a number of Turner's songs, including The Wicklow Hils.
Moore’s box set also features a song simply entitled I Like the Way Pierce Turner Sings.
