Following the birth of his niece yesterday morning, Prince Harry has said he cannot wait to meet her.

The princess was born at 8.34am in the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's Hospital yesterday and parents Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton introduced the baby girl to the world yesterday evening.

While grandparents from both sides of the family have met their granddaughter already, along Kate's sister Pippa, Prince Harry is yet to meet her face to face.

The Kensington Palace official Twitter tweeted this evening, "Prince Harry has said about his new niece: 'She is absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to meet her'."

The Twitter page also shared a message from the Duke and Duchess which read, "The Duke and Duchess are hugely grateful for the messages of congratulations they have received from people all over the world. It means a great deal to them that so many people have celebrated the arrival of their new daughter."
