Channing Tatum is attached to star in and produce a new sci-fi project based on Joe Hardman's novel The Forever War.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. has acquired the rights to the 1974 novel after a bidding war against Sony and another studio.
The Forever War is about a young man (Tatum) who joins a military task force during a war against an alien species called Taurens. The soldiers are sent through wormholes for battles, only to return to find that decades or hundreds of years have passed on Earth and society has undergone many dramatic changes.
Prometheus screenwriter Jon Spaihts will provide the script, while Tatum will produce alongside Roy Lee and Film 360.
