In a weird but poptastic turn of events, disgraced nineties duo Milli Vanilla are plotting a comeback with John Davis, the man whose voice they mimed to during their short-lived chart heyday.
According to LA gossip site TMZ, Milli Vanilla's Fab Morvan is in studio recording with Davis, twenty-five years after the duo of Morvan and the late Rob Pilatus were exposed as fakes.
This is Morvan's third attempt at a comeback. TMZ reports that the pair are making an album called Face Meets Voice: A True Milli Vanilli Experience. “Everyone knew Fab didn’t sing, but had no idea he actually could sing. And really great.” Davis has said of the new collaboration.
Milli Vanilli were the creation of German pop impresario Frank Farian. They won a Grammy award for Best New Artist in February 1990 but were stripped of the honour after it emerged that they mimed to all their live performances using the voices of three singers who had appeared on their debut album.
