Former One Direction star Zayn Malik has officially ditched all association with the band by changing his name on Twitter.
The 22-year-old singer, who was formally known as '@ZaynMalik1D' on the social networking site, has now dropped the last part of his Twitter handle.
His new name, simply just his name, '@ZaynMalik', has sparked outrage by some fans on Twitter and even created a new hashtag #YouWillAlwaysBeZaynMalik1D.
