Caitriona Balfe, the Irish star of the hit US time travel show Outlander, has said that she thinks that her former career as a model was good preparation for the series' nude scenes.
Balfe told the New York Post: "You'll probably find most models are incredibly insecure about their bodies."
She continued: "But maybe some of my background prepared me. I'm so used to stripping off in a room of 30 people… and I think the fact that I'm out of my 20s helps. I'm just much more sure of who I am."
As for her change of careers, she said: "I loved it [modelling] most whenever I felt I had an opportunity to inhabit a character. I guess I always leaned to the theatrical. … Modelling wasn't really my passion."
Outlander continues on Tuesday nights on RTÉ2.
