The best news of yesterday was that seminal Minneapolis band The Replacements are back in studio recording new material. They recently debuted a new song. It's called Whole Food Blues and you can have a listen here

It's the first new song The Mats have performed since reuniting in 2013 when they played in Toronto with founding members Paul Westerberg and Tommy Stinson in the line-up.

The band formed in 1979 and released seven acclaimed albums before breaking up in 1991, the year they played an epic three-hour late-night show in Dublin venue The Olympia.

The Replacements are often cited as an influence by The Holdsteady, Green Day, Ryan Adams and Wilco.
