Joss Whedon has revealed that he needs to take a break from future Marvel projects after the release of Avengers: Age of Ultron.
The filmmaker will not be helming the two-part Avengers: Infinity War movie, which will be directed by Anthony and Joe Russo.
Whedon told Collider: "Well I'm definitely going to take a real break for a couple months because my brain is no longer [working].
"You know, I've looked at both options. I love these guys. I love these movies; they're exciting. But part of me does think, 'You know what? I got to find out what's next'."
Whedon spoke about his desire to expand the range of projects he directs, saying: "There's nothing I don't want to do.
"I love every genre and a lot of different mediums so I literally have no idea. I do not know. I have no idea what I'm going to do next. It's a nice feeling."
Avengers: Age of Ultron hits Irish cinemas on April 23.
