Former One Direction star Zayn Malik is reportedly seeking to pursue a career in the film industry after meeting with a well-known director.
Malik, who quit the boyband last month, has held discussions with Bend It Like Beckham director Gurinder Chadha.
Chadha told the Daily Mirror: "We've met and spoken. He trained as an actor first then became part of the band.
"So I think what he'll be doing is staying true to his heart - and that's all you can ever do."
However, the director added that she does not have a role planned for the former boyband star "just yet".
She said: "I don't have a part in mind for Zayn just yet but hopefully in the future."
