Andrew Fox grew up in Skerries but is now resident in the USA. He has just published a debut collection of stories, Over Our Heads, which has received enthusiastic endorsements from both Kevin Barry and Roddy Doyle.

The Irish ex-pat writer studied at University College Dublin, and did an MPhil at Trinity College Dublin. He later studied in Boston, and is currently completing a PhD in New York.

Like another young Dublin author, Rob Doyle, he has certainly got around. “I lived peripatetically, in eight apartments in four cities in two countries, some for as little as three months, none for longer than a year, “ he wrote in The Irish Times in February.

Fox started writing stories as a student at Trinity College around 2007. At some point, he also worked the night shift at a Dublin airport hotel, and sometimes found himself serving food and drink to visiting celebrities.

“I delivered a burger to Brian Wilson once; he sang to me, didn't tip,” Fox revealed.
