Following two chart-topping albums in Ireland, country singer Nathan Carter makes his UK debut with his new album Beautiful Life on May 8.

The single, Good Morning Beautiful, is already on release.

Last year, 24-year-old Carter played over 200 gigs in Ireland, performing in front of an estimated 400,000 people. The singer left school in Liverpool, against his father's wishes at the age of 16, to follow his dream of becoming a singer.

He began performing in the pubs and clubs of his native Merseyside before finding a new audience in Ireland.

The singer always meets his fans and signs records. “I think it’s really important when people have gone to a lot of trouble and spent a lot of money to see you,” he says.

“I’m never going to forget that. When I was 16 I helped my dad out as a builder and I was useless at it. After that I vowed I would never complain about playing music for a living because there are people who work much harder purely to get by.”

In the run up to the appearance of the Decca-released album, Nathan has played sold out shows in London’s Union Chapel, in the New Brighton Pavilion and in Liverpool.

“I have gigged since I was 16 and I could count the number of weekends I have had off on the fingers of two hands,“ Carter says. “But I wouldn’t change a thing. It’s a blessing to do what you love and make a living from it.”
