Fans have had to wait almost a decade but finally Manu Chao has announced details of his return to Ireland.
The French singer hasn't played here since his sold out concert in the Phoenix Park in 2007. This time around he'll take to the stage at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham on Saturday June 27.
Things have been relatively quiet since the singer released his 2009 double live album Baionarena however all that is set to change as Because Music has decided to reissue all of his albums.
The energetic performer is excited at the busy few months ahead. He said: "In all modesty, it’s only now that I consider myself a real musician. I also realised we have a great catalogue of songs! We’re not three or four on stage but 500, 5000 or 50 000. Everybody knows the songs wherever we play them."
He added: "You have to keep it fresh. If you tour too much, for too much time, it becomes a routine and it’s not good."
Tickets for the over 18's event go on sale on Friday April 24 at 9am.
