Jeremy Clarkson has said that he will "miss" working on Top Gear after being fired from the show and has thanked fans for their support.
The presenter, who was axed following an incident with Irish producer Oisin Tymon, wrote in his column for The Sun: "Heartfelt thanks to all those who have written to say how much they will miss me on Top Gear."
He added: "It's not as much, however, as I'll miss being there."
Clarkson recently pulled out of guest presenting Have I got News For You following what was called a "fracas" with his former producer, and the BBC's decision not to renew his contract after an internal investigation.
His weekly Sun column had not appeared since then however the paper assured readers that he "had not been sacked" and was merely on holiday.
