Following the death of actress Anne Kirkbride in January, the makers of Coronation Street have said that they have finalised the story about her character Deirdre's departure from Weatherfield.
Digital Spy reports that the show's team said: "We have finalised details for a plot explaining Deirdre's departure, which will be screened in the summer."
The soap's executive producer, Kieran Roberts, told the website last month that the team was planning a fitting tribute to the late actress and was consulting with her family.
