Sue Perkins has dismissed rumours that she will become the next Top Gear presenter.
The Great British Bake Off co-host has emerged as a bookmakers' favourite to take over from Jeremy Clarkson for the BBC Two show's next run.
In response, Perkins took to Twitter to deny the claims. Responding to a user's question about the rumours, she said: "I am not".
Several stars have been tipped as potential replacements for Clarkson, after his contract was not renewed due to his attack on the show's producer, Oisin Tymon.
Former TFI Friday host Chris Evans has also denied reports that he will become the next lead host, and has done so on more than one occasion.
It has yet to be confirmed whether Clarkson's co-hosts James May or Richard Hammond will remain on the show. Their contracts are believed to have expired at the end of March.
