Other Voices kicks off with Damien Rice

Damien Rice is the special guest in the first episode of Other Voices, singing tracks from his current album, My Favourite Faded Fantasy.

Also featured in the show are UK three-piece All We Are and soulful singer-songwriter Joseph Lyons who works under the moniker Eaves.

Newcomers Cloud Castle Lake will be in the IMRO Other Room and, from the Other Voices archives, there's a look back at Anna Calvi's performance in St. James' Church, Dingle.

This, the thirteenth series is presented by Aidan Gillen (Game of Thrones, Charlie, The Wire) joined in host duties by Huw Stephens, known for his weeknight slots on BBC Radio 1.
 
"This series is the strongest so far with some wonderful music from Damien Rice, Jessie Ware, Young Fathers, Walking On Cars and Ibeyi, amongst many others," says Philip King,founder of Other Voices.

Wild Beasts, Jape, Delorentos, King Creosote; platform- emerging acts like Young Fathers (Mercury Prize Winners), The Lost Brothers, Wyvern Lingo, Buke & Gase, August Wells, Join Me In The Pines, Kormac’s Big Band and Melanie De Biasio alsao feature on the RTÉ2 series which begins at 10.50pm on Sunday April 12.
