Poppy Delevingne has reportedly landed a role in Guy Ritchie's upcoming film Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur.

The 28-year-old model will play Igraine, King Arthur's mother and love interest to Eric Bana's Uther Pendragon, according to reports.

An insider told The Sun that Poppy is hopeful her acting career will take off in the way her younger sister Cara's has, "It's a massive role for Poppy. She's becoming as popular as Cara - this will be her breakthrough role."

Cara (pictured above) has just appeared in Face of an Angel alongside Daniel Bruhl and Kate Beckinsale and has a starring role in the movie adaptation of John Green's Paper Towns which hits cinemas in August.

The source continued to say, "It's a big opportunity for Poppy and she's thrilled to have proved her worth on her own merit. She's not just about fashion and she's longed for a blockbuster role for a while now."

They added, "Guy thought she was right for the part from the get go apparently. She's got the right look and he knew she was a proper grafter."

Charlie Hunnam will play King Arthur with Jude Law and Djimon Hounsou also set to star.
