Watch! Huge turnout at Vikings casting in Dublin

With open casting for the History channel's adventure-drama Vikings taking place in Dublin on Tuesday and Wednesday, RTÉ News' Philip Bromwell has made a hyperlapse video of the hopefuls - see the half-mile queue here in 30 seconds. 

The open casting will continue at Filmbase, Curved Street, Temple Bar on Wednesday April 1 from 9:30am to 5:00pm.

The History channel recently commissioned the fourth season of the Ireland-shot series, with production due to begin later this Spring.

The third season is currently airing on History and is the Number One cable show on US television on Thursday nights.

History and H2 Executive Vice President and General Manager Dirk Hoogstra said at the time of the commissioning announcement: "Vikings has raided the hearts of both audiences and critics, establishing itself as one of the most compelling, visually stunning dramas on television."
