Glassland among JDIFF award winners

The Gerard Barrett-directed and Jack Reynor-starring Glassland was among the winners chosen by the Dublin Film Critics' Circle at the 2015 Jameson Dublin International Film Festival (JDIFF), which concluded on Sunday.

Glassland was named Best Irish Film and cinematographer Piers McGrail was honoured with the Michael Dwyer Discovery Award for his work on Glassland, Let Us Prey and The Canal.

The award for Best Irish Documentary went to Fortune's Wheel and Cobain: Montage of Heck won Best Documentary.  

Ruben Östlund was named Best Director for his film Force Majeure, with Miroslav Slaboshpitsky's The Tribe winning Best Film. 

Cliff Curtis won Best Actor for The Dark Horse and Nina Hoss won Best Actress for Phoenix.

Best Actor – Cliff Curtis, The Dark Horse

Best Actress – Nina Hoss, Phoenix

Best Debut – Chaitanya Tamhane, Court

Special Jury Prize – A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Contemplating Existence 

Special Jury Prize – Eden 

Special Jury Prize – Tu Dors Nicole

Special Jury Prize – 10,000 Km

Michael Dwyer Discovery – Piers McGrail, Cinematographer Let Us Prey, Glassland, The Canal
