Adam Driver has been in Asia filming Martin Scorsese’s movie, Silence.

The much sought-after actor and star of Girls will be seen in Irish cinemas shortly in While We’re Young, Noah Baumbach’s comedy, which also stars Ben Stiller and Naomi Watts. The film opens in Ireland on April 3.

"Surreal," he says when asked by today’s Observer (March 29) as to what being directed by Scorsese feels like. "I grew up watching his movies. In my culture, in Indiana, it was all about going to Blockbuster Video and renting Martin Scorsese movies.

"So to get to work with him is pretty surreal. It’s suddenly gone from watching as an audience member to feeling like a participant in a way that’s pretty exciting."

Silence is based on the novel by Shusaka Endo and is about a 17-century Portuguese Jesuit priest who is tasked with taking Christianity to Japan. The film also stars Liam Neeson and Andrew Garfield.

31-year old Driver will also be seen in JJ Abrams’s forthcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
