Bradley Cooper is reportedly in talks to direct a remake of the 1937 romantic drama A Star is Born.
According to Deadline, the American Sniper star is negotiating with Warner Bros to make his directorial debut on the project.
The publication reports that it is also hoped Cooper would star in the film alongside Beyoncé if she agrees to sign up.
The singer had previously been pegged to star in a Clint Eastwood-directed version of the film in 2012, and would have played the role of the young woman whose dreams of stardom are helped by an ageing star whose best days are behind him.
The project was halted when Eastwood agreed to direct Jersey Boys instead.
The original version of the movie was directed by William A. Wellman and starred Janet Gaynor and Frederic March, with remakes being made in 1954 with Judy Garland and James Mason and in 1976 with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson.
