The Cillian Murphy-starring BBC Two period crime drama Peaky Blinders pulled in over a million viewers on its debut on French television last week.
Deadline.com reports that the series drew an audience of 1.1m viewers when it premiered on Arte on Thursday, with the network saying it was one of the few shows to reach its one-million milestone.
The series, which has been screened on RTÉ2, has also been shown on Netflix in the US.
BBC Two has ordered a third season of Peaky Blinders, which will go into production later this year.
