It is reported that a character in EastEnders will win a seven-figure sum on a lottery scratchcard as part of a new storyline.

The Sunday Mirror says that in an episode to air in eight weeks' time, the winner will hold a big celebration in the Queen Vic - and will also try to buy the pub.
A source told the paper: "The winner has had their ups and downs but is a popular character. Viewers won't begrudge them their good fortune."
