The BBC has postponed a series of live Top Gear shows due to the ongoing inquiry into an on-set `fracas' involving host Jeremy Clarkson and Irish-born producer Oisin Tymon,
The Guardian reports that the four shows, which were due to take place in Norway on March 27 and 28 and to be attended by almost 20,000 people, have been held back by BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the BBC.
In a statement, the BBC said: “Top Gear Live regrets to inform ticket holders for next week’s shows in Stavanger, Norway, that we will be postponing all four performances, with rescheduled dates for later this year to be confirmed within the next fortnight.
“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this will cause fans and we will endeavour to contact all ticket holders directly to inform them of the change of date.”
Clarkson has been suspended while the BBC conducts an inquiry into an incident which is alleged to have taken place during the filming of Top Gear last week.
In regard to upcoming Top Gear Live shows, including one in Belfast in May, the BBC says that, “At present, all other Top Gear Live dates will run as scheduled.”
