Adele's 21 is the highest-selling album in the UK this millennium.
The Official Charts Company has issued a survey which reports that the singer's album has sold 4,740,000 copies to date. 21 was released in 2011 and spent 23 weeks at number 1.
Amy Winehouse's Back to Black comes in second place in the survey, with sales of 3,560,000 since it was released in 2006.
Meanwhile, James Blunt's 2004 release Back to Bedlam took third place with 3,310,000 copies sold.
Leona Lewis's Spirit and Dido's No Angel came in fourth and fifth respectively, while The Beatles, Michael Bublé, David Gray, Lady Gaga and Coldplay rounded off the top ten.
