Based on the book by Irène Némirovsky and set during the German occupation of France, Suite Française tells the story of Lucille Angellier (Michelle Williams) as she awaits news from her husband, a prisoner of war.
As Parisian refugees pour into the small town, soon followed by a regiment of German soldiers who take up residence in the villagers' homes, Lucille's life is further complicated by the arrival of a refined German officer, Bruno (Matthias Schoenaerts).
Also starring Kristin Scott Thomas, Ruth Wilson, Sam Riley and Margot Robbie, Suite Française is a story about the power of love and the tragedy of war.
