Soak, Girl Band, Walking on Cars and James Vincent McMorrow are among the 14 Irish acts who will play this year's South by Southwest festival in Texas.
The Music From Ireland showcase starts on March 18 and runs until March 20 as part of SXSW, which has become a vital port of call for new and established acts to network and play.
The full line-up of Irish acts who will play around Austin over the three days next week are All Tvvins, Buffalo Sunn, Dott, Fight Like Apes, Girl Band, Go Wolf, James Vincent McMorrow, LE GALAXIE, The Lost Brothers, Meltybrains?, More Than Conquerors, Orla Gartland, Soak, and Walking On Cars.
The centre point of the Irish shows is the Full Irish Breakfast event at local venue BD Riley's on Friday, March 20.
The Full Irish Breakfast is being delivered with support from Tourism Ireland US and the Consulate General of Ireland in Austin and this year, RTÉ TEN will live stream the gigs from the event.
The Music From Ireland initiative is run by First Music Contact, the national resource agency for musicians in Ireland. This is their 11th year at SXSW and Angela Dorgan, head of FMC, has high hopes for this years line-up.
“Following the success of acts like Hozier and The Strypes last year, all eyes are on the Irish line-ups this year," she says.
"We have been inundated with bookings for our Breakfast party so I look forward to seeing who takes up where they left off last year and takes the American audiences by storm”
The Full Irish Breakfast is being delivered with further support from Tourism Ireland US and the Consulate General of Ireland in Austin Texas.
