A planned US adaptation of the Idris Elba drama Luther has been put on hold as producers were not able to find a suitable leading man.
The Fox network picked up the drama in November, but were unable to make a casting decision in time to shoot the first episode for pilot season in spring.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network will now wait until pilot season is over before resuming its search for a leading man.
Elba will not be reprising his role as the titular character, detective John Luther, for the US remake.
Luther's creator Neil Cross wrote the new pilot and will serve as an executive producer alongside Elba.
